Exotic Persia has been a mystery to many people throughout the ages. Now a new luxury rail tour can take you to the heart of this fabled country.
Heart of Persia: Following the huge success of the Jewels of Persia departure in 2014, which made history as the first ever European private train to enter Iran, Golden Eagle introduces a brand new route with the entire 12-day duration spent discovering this mystical country.
Starting and finishing in Tehran, the tour goes to places that have been off the tourist map for many years and that have rarely been experienced by the Western traveller. Persia offers a whole host of sites from the deserted citadel at Rayen to one of the oldest cities in the world, Yazd.
Other special experiences are: a traditional Iranian lunch in Isfahan; Persia’s cultural capital, Shiraz and the nearby ruins of Persepolis and Necropolis; Iran’s oldest garden, dating back to 1590, in Kashan; and a spectacular journey through the Zagros Mountains. |
