Israel on a plate

Here's a one-of-a-kind absolute luxury tour of Israel for those in love with food

. High-end culinary tours of many countries are commonplace, but it’s not often you hear of comparable tours of Israel that are fully-escorted by a regional culinary expert.

Imagine eating around a centuries-old knights’ table or ascending Mount Adir to take in a sweeping vista over Southern Lebanon. Guests on the tour will sample pomegranate-based spirits, forage for herbs, enjoy cheese and honey-making and cook alongside Israel’s most-acclaimed chefs.

The tour progresses from Tel Aviv to Acre then Tiberias to Jerusalem and are just are few of the inclusions in this tastebud-tingling, nine-day culinary extravaganza.

One of Australia’s leading specialists in Israeli food traditions, Shelley Cohney, will accompany this group of 12 privileged travellers every step of the way as they discover a land of exemplary Middle Eastern cuisine that interweaves inextricably with an illustrious, rich and colourful culture. This tour gives its participants bragging rights to not-often-experienced travel wonders without compromising quality or luxury.

Shelley Cohney is a lecturer on food and Jewish history at William Angliss culinary institute in Melbourne and the Jewish Museum of Australia. She is a qualified Israeli tour guide with a BA from the University of Melbourne and a Masters from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. She has led groups in Israel and Australia, and lectured in England, the USA and Australia. She has also been a kosher cooking demonstrator at the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. The tour is restricted to a maximum of 12 people, and is from 27th October to 4th November 2014.
