Just in time for Christmas, MapsWithMe is pleased to announce an App Store update to their innovative offline maps application solving all of these travellers' headaches. Smaller sized downloads, improved styling, general user experience enhancements and advanced language support are just a few of the many improvements that have been made since the initial launch in April, 2011. Best of all, the app is completely free! Users simply choose the regions or entire countries they require and the compressed data downloads natively on to their chosen iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch). Because the data is stored locally, users will never have a faster or smoother mapping experience. And after the initial download, they never have to worry about hidden charges or the quality of their network data connection again. Of course, you will always be able to find where you are with the GPS positioning integration. Map data comes from OpenStreetMap project which is constantly evolving to deliver astounding levels of detail.

The week before Christmas is a particularly hectic time for travelers planning to head home or take a holiday over the New Year. Many of those travelers will find themselves in urgent need of a map in areas with no mobile network connection or in foreign countries where roaming charges are so excessive they are too scared to turn their phone on.
