I'm just here for dessert

They say you can't judge a book by its cover. But in the case of this exquisite book, styled and photographed by the author, Caroline Khoo, you really can. I mean, have you ever seen a cook book with gold edges on the pages?

Elegant, professional, absolutely mind-blowingly meticulous, this is a book for people who really love dessert as well as those who want to grow their patisserie skills.

Not only is the book packed with recipes, these are not just any old sweet treat. Almost a professional patissier's textbook, the book has been designed and constructed in layers, so that within each layer, home cooks will find step-by-step instructions (and photographs) to dozens of basic recipes. These will help you to build more and more design skills, and increase in confidence.

It's not all extreme time-taking precision, though. Caroline has included simple tips to help you save time and cut corners where possible.

In 2013 Caroline Khoo founded her online chocolate-desserts boutique Nectar and Stone with a vision of 'telling a story of eating with style and pushing creative boundaries'.   Highly popular on social media (she has 374,000 Instagram followers) those familiar with her work will agree she has more than succeeded in this. 

Macaroons, macarons, iced donuts, birthday cakes, tarts, cupcakes - familiar sweets, but given the gold-trimmed treatment by Caroline, the become works of art in this amazing book.
