(Image: Jim Lynn) Let's face it, there are many shades of grey and white (and even black and brown) for sheep, but green is not in the range. This little creature, of course is not a sheep. It doesn't eat grass, lives underwater and is sometimes called a 'leaf sheep', but there the relationship ends. A sea slug, dressed up as a cartoon sheep, feeds on algae – and only measures up to 5mm. The waters of Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines are its home. It has nother trick, though. The leaf sheep can perform photosynthesis so that when it eats algae the chloroplasts are incorporated into its own body, making them, essentially, solar-powered slugs! WATCH THE VIDEO...
