The prickly plant, agave, is commonly confused with cactus, however you need to know that while all cacti are succulents, not all succulents are cacti. Cacti do not have leaves, but agaves do. That sorted, why is there a new 430-hectare farm between Airlie Beach and Bowen in the Whitsundays region of Queensland?
The plan is to create and define a first-of-its-kind spirit category - Australian Agave - and become a leading brand in the ever-growing and changing world of spirits. With sales of Tequila and Mezcal growing rapidly over the last six years in the USA, TSI’s Australian Agave spirit and brand is being developed with international markets in mind.
