Luxury USA riverboat

Louisiane is America’s only boutique, luxury riverboat to explore the country’s beautiful heartland and Deep South.  With a capacity of up to only 150 passengers, this intimate riverboat embraces the French refinement and character that was brought to the region during its colonisation of ‘New France’.  The itineraries embrace the culture, cuisine and history of its ports, while guests take in the stunning scenery and relax in the elegant surrounds of Louisiane.

With Paris-trained, Cordon Bleu chef, author and restaurateur, Regina Charboneau at the culinary helm, dining in the tastefully appointed Bar Royale, French Quarter Lounge, Great River Room, Orleans Dining Room, Veranda Café, or via the 24 hour room service, is an authentically French experience, fitting perfectly with the heritage of this extraordinary part of the world.

The six night Classic Ohio River cruise offers trips between Louisville and Pittsburgh. Louisiane is the only cruise that operates on the Ohio River out of Pittsburgh, an area referred to as ‘La Belle Riviere’ by French settlers due to its gently rolling hills and rich forests.  Along the very same route taken by explorers Lewis and Clark in 1804, guests will uncover quaint towns and bustling cities such as Pittsburgh, offering art galleries, sports grounds and parks, as well as Cincinnati, home to the famous Coney Island amusement and waterpark.

The Fall Colours on the Upper Mississippi River offers six or eight night itineraries, operating between Louisville, St. Louis and St. Paul.  The voyage offers views of the Mississippi’s rich foliage as it turns a kaleidoscope of fantastical yellows, oranges and reds.  Heading North from St Louis, Louisiane will visit renowned author and humourist, Mark Twain’s home town of Hannibal, Dubuque, and the leafy towns of La Crosse, Winona and Red Wing, before docking in St. Paul.  This is the only river cruise itinerary to offer an overnight stay in St. Paul, where guests can delve into the vibrant metropolis of Minneapolis and extend their trip to include a stop at the Glacier National Park, or Montana by train.

The Grand Mississippi River eight-night voyage begins by exploring the mystique of New Orleans, known for its vibrant voodoo culture, before heading to Oak Alley, the most remarkable plantation in the Old South.  Guests will then visit the jewel of the Mississippi, Natchez.  Once the wealthiest city in America, it has over 400 perfectly preserved mansions and plantations.  For music lovers, a stop at Clarkesdale, the heartland of the blues, is followed by a visit to Memphis for an out-of-hours visit to Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley.

Prices for all cruises include shore excursions which are led by expert guides and include personal listening devices; daily breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner; alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including artisanal coffees, imported teas, soft drinks, house brand spirits, regional cocktails and premium French wines; gratuities to dining room, bar, cabin and expedition staff and port fees.
