  1. The Crown Princess of Denmark, Princess Mary, wife of the Crown Prince Frederik, was born in Tasmania. They have four children. The couple met each other in a Sydney bar during the 2000 Olympics.
  2. The Danish monarchy claims to be the world's oldest, dating back to Gorm the Old, early in the 10th century.
  3. Legoland is Denmark's most visited attraction outside Copenhagen. It is home to the world's largest LEGO® tower with a height of 31.39 metres.
  4. Lego was founded in 1932 Ole Kirk Christiansen, master carpenter and joiner in the village of Billund, Denmark.
  5. There are no mountains in Denmark – the average elevation of the country is 31 metres.
  6. Denmark’s people borrow more books from their libraries than anybody else in the world – about 85 million per year which is an average of seventeen per person.
  7. King Frederick VI of Denmark is said to have been frightened by people who wore spectacles.
