Spend a night in gaol
This 200-year-old courthouse, Clink 78 in London, was originally used for petty criminal and less serious offences, although The Clash punk group were convicted here in the 70's. Retaining the original facade and many of the courtroom relics, this Grade II listed building is situated in a conservation area 10 minutes walk from King's Cross station. Restored and converted to offer a combination of hostel dormitory, single and double rooms, as well as 6 original prison cells it's funky, up-beat and classy.
Clink78 has retained the two large and beautiful original courtrooms, now converted into a TV/film room and a very grand 'Guilty' internet room. Tweet from here! It's a very exciting building and there are plenty of nooks and crannies to discover including details of famous names connected with - it including Charles Dickens - who supposedly based parts of Oliver Twist on his experiences while working as a Scribe.
