The awards, referred to as " The Oscars of the Travel Industry" by the Wall Street Journal, are voted by travel professionals worldwide and are highly regarded by the travel industry and travellers alike.

This is the fourth World Travel Award for the Lyall Hotel since opening 10 years ago in 2002. Previous awards include "Leading Boutique Hotel in Australasia" and "Leading Spa Resort Australia".
