MediTrainean restaurant |
Move over Sushi-trains! A dynamic new restaurant trend - MediTrainean - now combines the concept of serving tasty tapas style dishes via a moving 'train' with a made-to-order grill menu to deliver wonderfully flavorsome food whether you are on the go or dining in. Conveniently located on Sydney's buzzing lower north shore, MediTrainean’s movable feast of Mediterranean-inspired cuisine and house-made specialities are complimented by a fabulous list of wine, champagne and beer plus non-alcoholic quenchers including the flavored Santa Vittoria selection.
And it’s not only the food transporting customers to a different world. MediTrainean may be just minutes from the CBD, but its light-filled interior and calming colour scheme makes anyone feel they have wandered into a delightfully exotic eatery somewhere in the Mediterranean itself.
Small plate selections include mussels spiced with caramelised onion, rice and lemon, stuffed zucchini with lamb and fresh herbs, zucchini parmigiana baked layers of pan fried zucchini, napoli sauce and a a trio of cheeses, and fish cakes made with fresh Atlantic salmon. Those in the know also leave room for the flame-grilled kitchen specials such as fresh tiger prawns in garlic, olive oil and herbs, a tender lamb skewer finely minced with lemon, garlic and olive oil, and arancini made with the finest porcini mushrooms herbs and provolone. The train serves desserts too. Roast quince with crème fraiche and halva, chocolate pudding with seasonal berries, cheesecake of baked ricotta and almond, and traditional baklava dripping in honey and filled with crunchy cashews. So jump on this new train of thought, and see for yourself at ..... |
