Civic landmarks in many cities tend to be in memory of a famous local person or an important historic event. This was not the case in Toronto, Canada. In the city’s redesigned Berczy Park, a triangular, pet-friendly park behind the historic flatiron-shaped Gooderham Building in the St. Lawrence district, a massive two-tiered dog fountain attracts humans - and their dogs.
In this whimsical addition to the park, 27 cast-iron dogs spray water from their mouths and there is even one cat, as well as a golden bone on top. |
