AUSTRALIA DAY: January 26, commemorating the establishment of a white European (British) colony in 1788. ROYALTY: Australia has a constitutional monarchy, and Queen Elizabeth II is Queen of Australia. CURRENCY: Australian dollar. Australia has the world's 13th-largest economy.
